FormFit / IP Vault in a working app

Protecting the assets the app ships.

Your app should deliver the experience you built without handing over the content you worked hard to create. IP Vault makes selected assets harder to extract by encrypting them and controlling which installations can open them. Keep control of your content and the models you trained to run on the device.

Why integrate

An exercise library is part of the product.

FormFit is our Android fitness app. Its exercise demonstrations help people learn each movement. That library belongs in the FormFit experience. Shipping ordinary video files also hands a reusable copy of the library to anyone who extracts the app package.

With IP Vault, FormFit delivers the guides without surrendering the library as standalone video files. The app ships an encrypted pack and opens selected clips inside accepted installations. People still get the exercise guidance they expect; extracting the reusable library takes more work.

The integration

Seal in the build. Open inside accepted installations.

  1. The build packs and encrypts the exercise-video bank locally.
  2. The Android package carries demos.ipva and an index locating the clips.
  3. IP Vault's licence policy controls installation access. FormFit currently grants its demos automatically to accepted installations.
  4. The native player reads the sealed pack from the installed APK, decrypts the segments needed for a selected clip and supplies it to Media3 through an in-memory data source.

The integration guide covers Android version, architecture and model-runtime compatibility.

Recording and demonstration notes

The inline animation contains a short, original-speed excerpt of actual playback in the Play-installed app. The build seals the library and the player opens selected clips in memory. Visible playback can still be captured.

What this protection covers

Harder to extract. Normal to use.

IP Vault removes directly reusable video files from the package and controls access to decryption. A playing clip still exists in the app's memory, and visible playback can be screen-recorded. The aim is to make extraction and reuse harder while keeping the app useful.

This example covers FormFit's selected video library. Other assets need their own integration. FormFit grants demo access automatically to accepted installations; this demonstration shows packaging and playback, rather than paid purchase enforcement.

The local scan is free. Guided integration and verification are a separately scoped paid service.
